+~a howl of pure ecstasy~+

18 March 2008

The weather is really craaaaazy last week. Rain, wet and cold and sunny and hot... So, it's rare that you'll get such nice shot... it kinda resembles the Egyptian man-lion statue - Ok, it's Sphinx. Thanks Max!

Baby... i'm really sorry... but you really gotta understand!!!
... tried so hard to save one stalk that's nicely dried and preserved but all are so mouldy already! BUT i did keep a piece of the gold wrapper to wrap around one of the vases!
We went to Esplanade to catch Olivia's performance but we couldn't get a nice view since it's so crowded (cuz it's free) but did managed to snap some really nice night view.

And this bunch of angmohs (there's a bout 6 of them but i only managed to capture with 2 of them using my cam) is so enthu to take pix with me... Max said it's cheap thrill, i said he's plain jealous cuz no girls went up to him and asked for a pic! Sorry buddy, i know i'm more lovable than you~ stupid angmoh on the right... spoil the whole thing!!!

Many friends have asked me to go to the chinese sinseh to treat my back injury. I heeded their advice, and went to one on sunday together with gerald's mum. According to her, this sinseh is famous and really effective. It's opposite Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, along the stretch of eateries that sells very nice chicken rice and malay food, above Liquid Kitchen.

The sinseh do some "pulse-reading" and some standard Q&A as to how i got the injury, he ruled out that it's slip-disc (yeah yeah yeah!!!) and it's just some "juggled-up" nerves problem, and asked me lie face down. He took out the accupunture needles and start poking them into my hip and butt areas ( i was super nervous and my palms are sweating) and he said"it's just like an ant bite" (yah... right. ant bite??!!!) He press and knead and kept asking "is it painful here?" (of cuz!!!) He stood up and went to get some machine that looked like something that i used in the lab during my SP's EEE course before (some apparatus that passes current). 5 mins later my flesh was twitching uncontrollably like mad and he said "it's skin dancing!!" (dancing??!! more like break-dance!). I tell you, it's super uncomfortable. 10 mins later i heard the lighter sound. Before i knew it, something sucked my flesh SO hard!!! That's when i cried like a 3 year-old. Not 1, not 2 but THREE!!! 3 "fire-in-a-cup" that sucked onto my flesh! He twisted the cups around and keep taking off and putting them back... my god... the 20 mins felt like hell. The pillow was wet and there's two streaks of black lines created on it. At last, the treatment finished! I opened d door and saw gerald and few other patients outside staring at me :-( i was uber-embarassed.

But i had to admit that it was my first time in 2 weeks that my back feels so much better. The tears and 60 bucks - well-spent! Now i'm thinking how am i gonna get thru this friday's session...

I suffered a slip disc!!! It's super uncomfortable, any slight movement that will touch the spine nerve would send a sharp shocking pain that shoots thru the hips to the heel. Every movement i make have to be slow-mo... it's a damn bad idea to jump off the bed. I wonder how do i go back to work tommorrow....

I'm sure many of you have heard of the local bossa nova singer Olivia Ong. I managed to catch her performance at Dempsey's Oosh Bar.

Recommended finger food - Cheese-stuffed Mushroom Cap
Recommended Drinks - Strawberry Margarita, Cosmopolitan and Lychee Martini

It's granny's birthday on Sunday, and we had a buffet lunch at The Noble House. Food was GREAT!! Especially the Oatmeal Prawns and the Salmon Sashimi which we kept ordering. We roughly calculated that we ordered about 20 dishes for our table!

What happens when we asked granny to try the sashimi??? Just look at her expression...

And when she finally takes a piece...

Oh... and i LOVE her so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After that, with our 110% filled stomach, we went to The Buddha Tooth Relic Museum (Temple??? whatever...)

No low-cuts, no spags, no shorts, no minis... Shawls are given at the entrance to cover up.

Wah... so many rules uh....

As we enter the Sacred Buddha Tooth Relic Chamber, no photogs are allowed

Ok. Noted. But still there'll always be someone who chose to disobey.

Very elderly-friendly too...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AH MAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

01 March 2008

Yesterday was a leap day, did any ladies proposed? I guess the answer is a big "NO" cuz we still want to to brag to our friends how our husbands porposed to us with their knees down in front of a public crowd right in Orchard Road with a Tiffany eye-blinding bling in their hands.

I've created another blog to post pictures -> http://adayinthelifeofjoey.blospot.com/

We went to the Airshow 2008 and to our dismay, the event was poorly organised. The unexpected crowds which sums in to about one-third of the island's population that includes the grandparents, babies in hand and prams, children and females clad in 3" high heels in all forms, halters, cleavage-bearing cloth and dresses! Amazing~!!! We are of cuz the smarter ones who brought our SPF 130++ sunblock which we re-apply every 1 hour, shorts, hats, sunglasses, 3 litres of water and trainers! The whole event looked so diferent from the first Airshow 2 years ago.

For this Airshow, i purposely bought a new camera. How can i pay 20 bucks and not capturing any of the displays???

I hate it when no one told me that he's taking pictures!!!

Hmm... Can u spot Joey??

The road leading into White Sands carpark is jam packed, so we park our car at the nearest HDB block to take the shuttle bus... Can you calcuate how long did we park the car for??

As this camera comes with this special function "Smile-Shutter", meaning it snaps automactically when it detects smiling faces, we're trying to trick the camera with our very-tired-smile to see if it snaps. Apparently, it does!

Does this driver has a problem parking such a small car?

Joey has a new hair-do... again??!!????

And i wonder what is this cashcard-machine capable of besides topping up cashcards....
